Iamina Ilea

Iamina Ilea is a professional tandem pilot and paragliding instructor originally from Romania and has dedicated her life to free flying starting with sail planes in 2000, moving on to paragliding and skydiving. She has turned her passion into a profession. Her time, energy and resources have been entirely dedicated to perfecting her skills in this sport, acquiring experience, performing at top level, and…the best part: sharing the passion and joy of flying with other people.
She has been running her own paragliding school and tandem business since 2011 in Transylvania-Romania, has been a part of worldwide paragliding events and competitions, organized paragliding trips and guiding for paragliding pilots on 4 continents and presently works seasonally as tandem pilot in Switzerland. Her main speciality is cross-country (long distance) flying in the high mountains combined with hike&fly and bivouc and has flown numerous flights over 100km in the Himalayas, Alps, Rocky Mountains, the Carpathian Mountains, the Rift Valley in Africa as well as the Australian desert. Some of her dearest projects in the sport untill now were: taking part as volunteer tandem pilot 4 years in a row in The Ghana Paragliding Festival, bivouac flying in Nepal close to the Fishtail Mountain, flying high over 5000m in the Owens’s Valley US, flying the mountains of New Caledonia, crossing the Alps by hike&fly in the summer of 2016, last but not least, being a tandem pilot in Switzerland and working with the best professionals in the field.
